The Rotary Club of Queensway (君域扶輪社) was chartered in 1992 as the first woman’s only club in Hong Kong and in Rotary International District 3450 under then District Governor Dom Vessigault. Within ten years, Charter president Gloria Cheng became the first female District Governor in the district, serving in the position in the year 2002-2003. Our Club continues to flourish through the years and our most prominent project to date has been the Hepatitis B immunization program. We immunized over 50,000 infants and children in China within a period of five years and this was adopted as a district project during the 2002-2003 year before the Chinese Ministry of Health took over. We continue to support many local and international service projects, including World Heart day, organized by the Hong Kong College of Cardiology; St. John’s Cathedral HIV/AIDS Educational Center’s AIDS Festival; water provision projects in Guizhou to increase access to water for families in need, and other local service projects.
